I created the original Stanwood, Michigan website that contained the town’s history way back in early 2006. Many years of research and expense went into its development. Building the site became an obsession of mine. I always held a high level of regard for our village, and its community, so it was important for me to develop something that reflected my appreciation.
The site was up, and accessible for many years, and during that time, it received a lot of attention, and positive feedback. Unfortunately in 2012 the site was hacked, its servers went down and all of its content was lost. I tried several times to rebuild the Stanwood website, but life and responsibilities caught up with me. 70 hour work weeks, business travel, being a father, family deaths, battling cancer… Time is something I did not have until now.
Stanwood Magazine is a new, and more up-to-date version of the old Stanwood Online website with a new URL. My intent is to expand the content of the site by posting updates on a regular basis. I also want to solicit your input regularly. If you got photos, then send them to me. You have stories to share, then post them. I want to hear your feedback as well.
So, through the process of digging into my old notes, rescanning old photos and conducting additional research, I present to you this updated website. I hope it is something you enjoy.
Best regard,
Sean Bumstead
